Financial spread betting is a form of trading. When you place a spread bet you are trading on the same assets as a traditional trader but with a few key differences.
- You have the ability to trade a much smaller position size
- Any profits you make are free from capital gains tax and income tax
- Spread betting brokers do not usually charge a commission
- The spread is usually wider than a traditional broker
